Article 52
The Officers of the Priory shall be:
- The Vice-Prior, who shall preside and act in the absence of the Prior.
- The First-Secretary, who shall have charge over the Secretariat and other office matters.
- The Almoner, who shall have charge over financial matters.
- The Marshall, who shall have charge over all ceremonial, and all matters relative to the insignias and uniform of the Order.
- The Hospitaller, who shall have change over the hospitallery service.
- The Head Religious Superior (normally one Religious Superior from each of the principal denominations) who shall be responsible for the religious ordinances.
Article 53
The Officers of the Priory and the ordinary members of the Priory Council shall be elected for a period of three (3) years. They are eligible for re-election but must retire on attaining the age of seventy-five (75) years.
Article 54
The Prior together with the Officers of the Priory shall maintain proper records of all their acts and transactions and shall be responsible for preparing annual accounts in respect of all monies received and disbursed by the Priory. These records and documents are at the disposal of the General Secretary of the Order.
Article 55
The Priory Council, in consultation with the members of the Priory, shall be responsible for determining the charitable work to be undertaken by the Priory.
Article 56
Commanderies may be established to serve the needs of members within a defined area of an existing Priory, in which case the appointment of the Commander is vested in the Prior having jurisdiction subject to confirmation by the Prince Grand Master, the Lieutenant Grand Master or the Governor.
Members in Gremio Religionis
Article 57
Postulants who for residential, political or other reasons, are not assigned to a Priory or Commandery, are received in gremio religionis and depend directly from the Grand Chancellery.
The Discipline of Members
Article 58
Members whose actions, behaviour or comportment are derogatory to the dignity of the Order or inconsistent with their chivalric or religious status may be summoned to appear before a Court of Honour convened by the Prince Grand Master, the Lieutenant Grand Master, the Governor or the Grand Chancellor.
By Decree, for serious particular cases, a member can be removed from his office and expulsed.
Article 59
This Constitution is promulgated by H. H. the Prince Grand Master Roberto II Paternò Castello e Guttadauro Ayerbe Aragona di Carcaci d'Emmauel and will cancel and replace any previous.
